Alumni Papers: Belva Ann Lockwood
Belva Ann Bennett McNall Lockwood, an 1857 graduate of Genesee College, was the first woman to be admitted to practice law before the U. S. Supreme Court (1879), and the first woman to be nominated by a political party to run for United States President (1884). These papers cover the years 1897-1917, containing articles and writings. Also in the collection are articles and biographies written about her since her death in 1917. This collection consists of 1 box. The finding aid was prepared by Amanda H. Galvin.
