Dewitt T. Mackenzie (1884-1962) was a graduate of Syracuse University in 1907. Upon leaving school, Dewitt embarked on a long and distinguished career as a news correspondent, reporting on stories from around the globe, covering two world wars and their aftermath.

The majority of these papers cover the years 1917-1918 and 1939-1951 and consist of 9 boxes totaling 8.35 cubic feet. The finding aid was prepared by Eric Rode.
