Faculty Papers: Stanton Catlin

Stanton Catlin Stanton Catlin was dubbed "dean of Latin American art history in the United States. His expertise in art history also led him to win a 1964 Grammy Award for best album notes for his essay on Mexican Mural painting in "Mexico: Its Cultural Life in Music and Art." He received a master's in art history from New York University in 1967. He joined Syracuse University in 1974 to direct the museum studies program. He was named an emeritus professor in 1982 and a research professor in the Department of Fine Arts in 1993.

These papers cover the years 1974-1988 and consists of 17 boxes. The finding aid was prepared by Kyle C. Wilson.

Please note that the collection is housed off-site and advance notice is required to allow time to have the materials brought to the Archives Reading Room in Bird Library.
