Materials: Brick walls, bronze glass windows, lobby ceiling of Douglas fir over slate floors and decorative trees
Architect: Kling Partnership of Philadelphia, PA. Koetter, Kim and Associates of Boston, MA worked as part of the design team. Skoler and Lee of Syracuse, assisted with architectural production of the building
Location: Five acre University-owned block bounded by College Place, Euclid Avenue, Comstock Avenue and University Place
Cost: $32 million - New York State Urban Development Corporation provided a $5 million grant and a $27 million interest-free loan. Syracuse University planned to provide $27 million worth of equipment over ten years following construction. There was also a $12 million Federal grant for NPAC equipment.
Notes:
The structure originally housed the departments of Chemistry, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Schools of Computer and Information Science, and Information Studies. It also contains the Center for Advanced Technology in Computer Applications and Software Engineering (CASE Center), the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center, the SU NMR and Data Processing Laboratory, and the Center for Molecular Electronics.
