CNY ARMA BOARD MEETING (VIA CONFERENCE CALL)
November 16, 2007

Present:  Jackie Lewis, Dave Langevin, Eileen Keating, Dianne Hagan, Pat Franks, Ed Galvin, Ed Becker, Lorraine Anderson

REGION UPDATE - Lorraine Anderson gave the following update:

• Smaller chapters in the region are struggling.  The Region Team has been very involved in helping these chapters.  She gave an update on the status of various chapters within the region. 
• She suggested we consider reducing our schedule for the year to holding 2-3 good educational sessions, and holding board meetings via conference call on a monthly basis.  Some chapters are doing this now and are inviting their members to dial into virtual board meetings if they chose to or if they have specific issues.
• When possible, chapters are encouraged to “piggy-back” speakers.  The speaker may present at the Boston or Metro NY chapter one day then travel to another chapter in the region the next day.  Chapters could then share expenses and take advantage of some great speakers.
• Some chapters are going to be holding their year-end meetings at the June Region Conference in Saratoga.  It has also been suggested that one banquet could be held as part of the Saratoga event for all chapter awards to be presented.
• Some chapters are requesting that their speaker also submit an article that they can print in their next newsletter as a follow up to the meeting.
• Dave Pita is working on the region website.  Should be up and running shortly.  It will have links to each chapter’s website.
• Lorraine has requested that HQ look into arranging contracts that chapters could access for web design and for use of C-Vent for registration.

UPCOMING MEETINGS – The group discussed the following meeting schedule and assigned responsibilities as follows:

February 7, 2008
Tentative Speaker – Greg Hunter (Eileen to confirm)
Alternative Speakers – Galina or Steve Goodfellow
Topic – Partnering with IT to Ensure Compliance

Once speaker is confirmed, Dave will be responsible for submitting Speaker Grant Application.  Deadline for submission of this application is December 15th.

OTHER BUSINESS:

• Dave has confirmed that the $1,500 received from Iron Mountain can be used any way the chapter chooses.  It is not specifically tied to advertising in five newsletters.  Ed will assure there is a link on our website to Iron Mountain
• Dianne announced that Carrier is allowing her to work out of North Carolina.  She will be moving in January. 
• Ed Becker announced that due to new personal commitments, he would like to step down from the Vice President’s position and resign from the Board if another member is willing to join the Board.
• Ed Galvin is working on redesigning the chapter website.
• Jackie reported that the family discussed at the September meeting with needs due to the illness of their daughter will have their needs met locally through various fundraising activities.  CNY ARMA could choose another project if the board still wants to do special project.

OUTSTANDING TASKS:

• Brochure/Logo – Dave needs to follow up on redesign of the brochure and logo.
• Bylaws – Ed Galvin agreed to lead the review of the chapter bylaws as required by HQ.
• Speaker Gift/Raffle Gifts – Dave needs to follow up on distribution of speaker/raffle gifts from the September meeting.
