Faculty Papers: Finla Goff Crawford
Finla Goff Crawford (1894 – 1973) was a professor of Political Science at Syracuse University, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and Vice Chancellor of Syracuse University from 1942 until he retired in 1959.
He was a director of the Youth Development Center, and a trustee of the Power Authority of the State of New York. In 1960, he was one of eight people named to the Governor’s “Committee of 100” to prepare the State’s participation in the White House Conference on Youth.
In 1969 the Center for Continuing Education on Roney Drive was named in his honor and a plaque was unveiled which cited Dr. Crawford for “His Service and Influence” during his 40 years at Syracuse University.
The Crawford Papers cover the years 1915 – 1966 and consist of 33 boxes and 2 oversized packages totaling 33 linear feet. The finding aid was prepared by Larry A. Mead.
