Pan Am Memorial This site is dedicated to the 270 men, women and children whose lives were lost in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. Thirty-five students studying abroad with Syracuse University were killed in this terrorist attack.

Martin Lewis Apfelbaum

Martin Apfelbaum was returning home from a stamp-buying trip to London on behalf of his family's mail order stamp firm, Earl P.L. Apfelbaum, Inc., of which he was the head. He had traded travel schedules with his son, John, a vice president of the firm. Martin was remembered by those who knew him best as a devoted, generous, and loving family man. He was well-known and respected by colleagues in his field for being responsible, tenacious, and setting a standard of excellence.
