Pan Am Memorial This site is dedicated to the 270 men, women and children whose lives were lost in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. Thirty-five students studying abroad with Syracuse University were killed in this terrorist attack.

Elisabeth Nichole Avoyne

Elisabeth Avoyne

Elisabeth "Babette" Nichole Avoyne was a flight attendant for Pan Am Flight 103. Originally from France, she joined Pan Am in 1968 and was based in Miami, Seattle, and Washington before becoming one of the founding members of the London base in 1972. Babette loved to travel and entertain, and is remembered for radiating care and concern for all those with whom she came in contact. She was survived by her husband, daughter, and step-children.
