Rachel Maria Asrelsky

Rachel Asrelsky

Rachel Asrelsky was an anthropology student at Grinnell College, Iowa, returning home after a successful semester in Florence, Italy. More than anthropology or Italian, she was an ardent student and lover of life. Described as a whirlwind by all who knew her, Rachel was active in a wide variety of social and political issues. One friend remarked that "losing her is awful, but not having known her would have been far worse." In her memory, The Rachel Asrelsky Memorial Award has been established at Grinnell College.
