Biography

Photograph of Turhan Michael Ergin

Turhan Michael Ergin was a junior in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. Turhan was an actor and an athlete. He was a member of the Syracuse University Lacrosse team, and his teammates made a trip to Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1989, just one year after the bombing and crash of Pan Am Flight 103. Born May 14, 1966, he was survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. M.T. Ergin of Connecticut, and four siblings.

Turhan selected the following quote from Theodore Roosevelt for his high school year book: "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat."
